Parent & Student Conduct Policy
The shared expectations that keep our classes and teams positive and productive.
Placeholder policy — not legal advice. This is a starting template. Newton STEAM Academy should review and customize it with a qualified attorney, and fill in the bracketed business details, before relying on it. Last updated: June 2026.
1. A Respectful Community
We want every student to feel respected and supported. Students, parents, instructors, and staff are all expected to treat one another with courtesy and respect.
2. Student Expectations
Students are expected to participate constructively, follow instructor guidance and lab safety rules, respect shared equipment and others’ work, and refrain from bullying, harassment, or disruptive behavior.
3. Parent / Guardian Expectations
Parents and guardians are expected to communicate respectfully with staff and other families, support their student’s participation, and follow drop-off, pick-up, and event guidelines.
4. Academic & Competition Integrity
We expect honesty in coursework and competition. Students follow the rules of any competition they enter (USACO, VEX, ISEF, and others), including rules on original work and permitted assistance.
5. Consequences
Conduct that endangers or seriously disrupts others may result in a warning, a parent conversation, or — as a last resort — removal from a program, consistent with our Terms & Conditions and Refund & Cancellation Policy.
