Safety Policy
Our commitment to keeping every student safe in our classes, labs, and at competitions.
Placeholder policy — not legal advice. This is a starting template. Newton STEAM Academy should review and customize it with a qualified attorney, and fill in the bracketed business details, before relying on it. Last updated: June 2026.
1. Our Commitment
Student safety is a precondition for everything we do. We aim to provide a physically and emotionally safe environment in every class, lab session, and event.
2. Supervision
Students are supervised by instructors during scheduled sessions. [Describe staff-to-student supervision ratios and drop-off / pick-up procedures once finalized.]
3. Lab & Equipment Safety
Robotics and engineering activities involve tools, batteries, and small parts. Students receive safety instruction before using equipment and are expected to follow lab rules at all times. [Describe specific protocols for tools, batteries, and electronics.]
4. Health & Emergencies
Parents are asked to share relevant medical information (such as allergies) at enrollment. In an emergency, staff will seek appropriate medical help and contact the parent or guardian. [Describe first-aid availability and emergency procedures.]
5. Adult Conduct & Background Checks
[Describe staff screening / background-check practices and expectations for adult conduct once finalized.]
6. Reporting a Concern
If you have a safety concern, please contact us immediately at info@newtonsteam.com so we can address it.
