Photo & Video Consent Policy
How we request, use, and manage consent for photos and video of students.
Placeholder policy — not legal advice. This is a starting template. Newton STEAM Academy should review and customize it with a qualified attorney, and fill in the bracketed business details, before relying on it. Last updated: June 2026.
1. Why We Ask
From time to time we may photograph or record students during classes, projects, open houses, and competitions to document learning and, with permission, to share on our website and social media.
2. Consent Is Opt-In
We will not publish identifiable photos or video of a student without the prior written consent of a parent or legal guardian. Consent is requested separately from enrollment and can be granted or declined without affecting a student’s participation.
3. Withdrawing Consent
You may withdraw consent at any time by emailing info@newtonsteam.com. We will stop using newly captured media of your student and make reasonable efforts to remove previously published media that we control.
4. How Media May Be Used
With consent, media may appear on our website, in printed or digital marketing, and on our social media channels. We will not sell student images or share them with unrelated third parties.
5. Competitions & Third Parties
Public competitions (such as VEX tournaments) may be photographed or recorded by their organizers and other attendees, which is outside our control. This policy covers only media captured by Newton STEAM Academy.
